Speeding Points & Informing
Insurance Companies |

|
One common misconception is that you don't need to inform your Insurance provider if you have less than six points on your license. The reality is that you do, and any points received for previous offences have to be declared, regardless of how many. If in doubt, always discuss thing with your insurance provider in advance. Failure to do so could render your policy invalid when you need it most and leave you seriously out of pocket. Speeding offences generally carry between 3 and 6 penalty points. also remember that new drivers are “on probation” for the first two years. If they pick up six or more penalty points during that time they will lose their licence and go back to being a learner. This means a new provisional licence, a new theory test and a new practical test as well as increased future car insurance costs.
